Dennis Roberts is an international coach, speaker and writer. He is founder of The Coaching Professionals and has coached professionally since 2000. His clients range from CEO’s, small business owners, franchisers, sales professionals, movie producers, leading socialites, single mothers, actors, students, entrepreneurs, and even a former Madame.
He initially trained with Results Coaching Systems and has facilitated training programs for coaches with both Results and The Source International. These two firms were gold and silver sponsors at the 2003 International Coaching Federation conference.
He has won critical acclaim in both the business and academic communities. His work has featured in no fewer than twelve publications including Readers Digest, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, Brisbane Courier Mail, Franchising, The Networker, My Business, MGSM Alumni magazine, Telstra’s Our Future, Real Estate Institute Journal.
He has facilitated mentoring programs with Australian Business Week, Australian Businesswomen’s Network, MGSM, Results Coaching Systems and privately mentoring several university students.
His academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Australia’s No.1 business school, Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) in 1998. He was elected to the MGSM Alumni Committee in 2001. He is also qualified accountant and first joined the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) in 1990.
He has served as a senior executive with three of Australia’s finest corporations in BHP, National Australia Bank and Telstra and has 18 years experience in diverse roles including Accounting, Finance, Commercial Management, Strategic/ Business Planning, Marketing, Business Development and Project Management.
In 1999 he led a large-scale change management program ($100m budget) within Telstra’s Wholesale and International Division. The project carried a risk exposure of $1m per day and was delivered on time/ on budget.
In 2001 Dennis represented Australia as a delegate at the World Racing Conference where he presented the findings of his market research into the needs of thoroughbred owners. He has contributed board papers to the Australian Racing Board, NSW Thoroughbred Racing Board, Racing Victoria and Harness Racing Council on key strategic issues.
He is a Company Director of three small businesses.
Dennis lives in Bondi, Sydney and is a regular early morning jogger along the famous Bronte to Bondi trail. He grew up in Melbourne before relocating to Sydney in 1993. The majority of his clients come from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane although he has worked with clients from as far a field as United Kingdom, USA and New Zealand.
He combines a rare blend of commercial acumen with new age methods and has travelled the globe attending personal development seminars and is currently researching material for an upcoming book on metaphysics and marketing. He regularly contributes articles for a range of business, professional and academic publications on topics such as marketing, franchising, personal growth, coaching and thoroughbreds.
His personal style is creative, humorous and highly personable. He is a keen lateral and strategic thinker and has an innate ability to communicate complex business concepts succinctly and with clarity.
During his career with Telstra he worked on project teams with most major consulting firms including Price Waterhouse Coopers, Boston Consulting Group, Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, McKinseys and Stern Stewart. He has lead and participated in over ten large-scale change management programs during his corporate career.
Over the past decade Dennis has completed strategic reviews of several industry sectors – Coaching (2003), Thoroughbred Racing (2000), Telecommunications (1999 & 1996), Stockbroking (1988).
He is well regarded for his expansive network of personal and business contacts and his charity work. He remains an active fundraiser for Opportunity International and is a supporter of Good Company. He is an advocate of social entrepreneurialism and helping the poor by giving them a hand up, not a hand out. He also actively supports the Guide Dog Association of Victoria where he served as a puppy walker for many years.This is where my bio goes.
